First Day in the MTC

Family!  We get to write home on our first day!  It has been a party pretty much.  Right after we got dropped off I saw Elder Doxey, then on the way up the ramp I saw Elder Cody Jenson, then Elder Scott Palmer, then Elder Morgan Evans and Elder Chase Bleyl.  Elder Doxey is in my District!  It is great.  We only spoke Spanish in class today.  It was a little tricky, but it was good and some of my Spanish is already coming back!  My companion's name is Elder Fawcett.  He is from Hurricane and is a cool guy.  He is enthusiastic about studying and discussing as a companionship.  He is a neat peraon and I will learn a lot from him.

We had a meeting with the 500+ Elders that came in today with the MTC Presidency.  He emphasized the importance of reading the Missionary Handbook and obeying all the rules in it.  He says that if you follow the handbook you will go home having had success and no regrets.  I know that he speaks the truth!

We had this cool activity where we had about 30-40 missionaries in the room with a single, real-life investigator.  They really jump-start the real work here.  One in particular was a very devout Catholic who moved to Orem from Seattle.  He had such a testimony about Jesus Chr4ist and the sanctity of the Bible.  The missionaries in the room had a chance to teach him.  He was concerned about the Book of Mormon replacing the Bible.  I didn't share but I wish I had told him that the Book of Mormon doesn't replace the Bible, but that they two compliment each other and they are much more enlightening when they coexist together.  They are good alone, but can be Great together.

Sorry this letter is handwritten, so you can probably only read half of it. My P-Day is Monday...just a heads-up.

Well I love ya and can't wait to learn Spanish and get out and see what the Lord has in store for me throughout my mission.

P.S.  Didn't realize this was a Thank-you envelope till after I wrote the address.  Don't Judge.
